I was working on making a book trailer for Standing By when I came across a project I had done for a film class when I was working on my undergraduate degree. I had forgotten about it, but watching it made me think I could use it as sort of an “author trailer” on my website and new YouTube Channel.
The idea came from writing, of course, and how I often get stuck on trying to capture the idea before it passes, but I don’t know what the right words are. Or it can be just that little moment where you get stuck in writing and try to figure out how to break through it. I know all writers struggle with this, no matter what “level” they’re at.
It’s a good way to remember that when it gets tough, you can get through it. I never thought I’d write a book, even though I’d always said I wanted to. Then finally, one day I just started writing and three and a half months later, the manuscript was done.
Anyway, my reasoning for starting a YouTube Channel is that I thought it might be fun to share video content on my website. Whether it’s readings, how-to’s, tips & tricks, or just anything bookish, it seemed like doing vlogs once in a while would capture people’s interest instead of just writing everything out all the time.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you stick around!
